But I digress. I don’t know if it cures a hangover, but it does have a lot of delicious components. Sauteed mushrooms, red onions, cheddar cheese, chili, bacon, and ground beef. It’s a heck of a burger.
Real talk though, if you can’t drive to Red Robin to order this off the secret menu you most likely can’t pull yourself together to make this. But that’s what friends and a family are for. 😉
Red Robin’s Cure Burger
Serves 4
1 pound 80/20 ground beef shaped into 4 large patties
4 sesame seed buns, buttered and toasted
½ c cooked chili, store bought or leftover homemade chili
8 slices of cooked bacon
6 oz sliced, cleaned mushrooms
1 thinly sliced small red onion
4 fried eggs
4 ounces cheddar cheese
4 t ketchup
2 T vegetable
Directions
In a sauté pan over low heat add 2 T vegetable oil. Rinse and pat dry mushrooms with paper towel. Add them to the pan and sauté mushrooms until tender and deepened in color. About 15 minutes over low heat.
Slice onions and set aside. In a small saucepan warm chili. Butter and toast buns. Grab your cooked bacon. Fry your eggs.
Lightly salt burger patties. In a frying pan over medium low heat cook burger until close to desired doneness, flipping once. These burgers can also be grilled indoors or on the stovetop. Turn off heat and remove pan from heat. Add cheese and cover pan to melt the cheese.
To make burger put bottom buns on a plate. Spread 1 t of ketchup each. Add onion slices, then patty with melted cheese, sautéed mushrooms, bacon, and chili evenly. Slide one fried egg and top of each burger and add top buns. Enjoy.
Peace,
CK
