But it smells wonderful and taste delicious. This famous New Orleans dessert is said to have been invented by Brennan’s Restaurant in the French Quarter back in 1951.
Brennan’s opened it’s doors back in 1946 but closed abruptly in 2013.
Bananas Foster
Makes 4 servings
3 bananas, peeled
½ c light brown sugar
¼ c butter
2 T rum
2 t vanilla extract
1/8 t cinnamon
1/8 t salt
Vanilla Ice Cream
In a large frying pan over medium heat add the butter and let it melt. Add the sugar, vanilla, cinnamon. Pick up the pan and away from the heat add the rum. Place pan back on stove. When the sugar has dissolved that the bubbles start to form add bananas. Reduce heat to low. Cook bananas on each side for 1 to 2 minutes. Enjoy.
