Some dude was complaining about his potatoes being all sogged out, and Chef Crum sliced up some potatoes super thin, fried them and bathed them in salt.
The guy loved them and history was supposedly made.
Be warned, you may never go back to the bagged potato chips. I’m saying it, these are the best homemade chips out there, what? Yeah, I said it!
Potato Chips
Serves 2
2 russet potatoes, washed, peeled and sliced to 1/8 inch thickness
Peanut or Vegetable oil for frying
fine sea salt or regular salt
Pour 1/2 inch oil into a large pot. Bring the temperature up to 300 degrees.
Add about a handful or so of sliced potatoes and lightly fry while stirring and flipping them around until there are minimal bubbling around chips.
Remove and drain on paper towel, paper bags or cooling rack. Salt fresh out of the oil. Enjoy.
Peace,
CK
