Homemade Mrs. Butterworth's Syrup Recipe
Makes almost 2 cups
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 cup, packed light brown syrup
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon butter
1/8 teaspoon salt
In a saucepan over medium heat add all ingredients EXCEPT butter and vanilla extract. Stir often while bringing mixture to a boil.
Once mixture starts to bowl stir and cook for 3 or 4 additional minutes. Remove to heat proof bowl.
Stir in butter and vanilla extract and let cool down. Syrup with thicken up while it cools.
Store in refrigerator in mason jar with a top for up to 2 weeks.
