Slow Cooker BBQ Ribs
Ingredients
1 slab pork ribs, cleaned, membrane removed, cut into 3 or 4 pieces
1 ½ – 2 liters of cola
1 cup BBQ sauce
Rub
1 c brown sugar
1 T cayenne pepper
2 t garlic powder
2 t onion powder
2 t black pepper
2 t salt
2 t smoked paprika
½ t cumin
In a bowl mix all rub ingredients with a whisk or folk really well. You’ll have enough rub one more rib and you can store in an airtight container for six months. Rub the rub all over those ribs, make sure your get everywhere. Let the ribs rest for about 10 minutes before putting them in slow cooker or crock pot.
Stack the ribs in and pour in coke. Pour down the sides of the pot because we don’t want to aggressive wash off our rub. Place the top on and set pot to low and let it go for five hours.
Remove the ribs to a foil lined baking sheet. Brush on your favorite or try my BBQ sauce and place the ribs under the broiler and broil on the sauce. Repeat on second side. Serve with extra BBQ sauce. Enjoy.
Peace,
CK
