Pan Pork Chops with Provolone and Onions
Serves 4 4 thin cut pork chops 4 slices provolone cheese ½ cup chicken broth 1 medium onion, sliced 2 Tablespoons olive oil Seasonings ¼ teaspoon onion powder ¼ teaspoon garlic powder ¼ teaspoon seasoned salt ¼ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes 1/8 teaspoon Italian seasoning 1/8 teaspoon black pepper Mix seasonings together and season both sides of pork chops. Set aside. Pour ½ of the olive oil in a nonstick pan over medium high heat. Add onions and cook and stir until onions are golden brown and softened. Remove onions. Return pan to stove, reduce the heat to medium.Pour in ½ of remaining olive oil into pan and spread around. Add two pork chops cook them a couple of minutes each side. Remove them to a plate and cook the other two pork chops. Add the removed pork chops back to the pan with the other pork chops. Reduce heat to and add the chicken broth. Cook for 5 minutes. Add a slice of cheese to each pork chop and put some of the cooked onions on each one. Simmer for another minute or so, just until the cheese melts. Enjoy. Peace, CK |
