Ginger and garlic shrimpGinger and Garlic Shrimp
by Chef Kendra Nguyen Serves 3-4 1 pound medium shrimp, washed, deviened, and tails removed 1 egg white 1/4 medium onion, sliced 4 cloves garlic finely chopped 1 inch piece of ginger, peeled and finely chopped 2 Tablespoon vegetable oil 1 Tablespoons corn starch 1 1/2 teaspoon sugar 1 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes Cilantro for ganish (optional) Cooked Rice In a large bowl add egg white, black pepper, corn starch, salt and sugar. Whisk well. Stir in shrimp, let set for 10 minutes. In a nonstick pan over medium high heat add oil. Add shrimp and stir fry shrimp for about 30 seconds. Add half the onions and cook a little longer. Add rest of the onions, ginger, garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook until shrimp is done. Remove and ganish with cilantro if desired. Serve with warm cooked rice or noodles. Enjoy. Peace, CK |
