Cheesesteak Sandwiches
Makes 4 sandwiches 4 small hamburger buns, buttered and lightly toasted 1/2 pound top round steak, sliced against the grain into thin pieces 1/4 green bell pepper, seeds removed, sliced 8 thinly slices pieces of provolone or american cheese 2 T vegetable oil 1/4 t salt 1/8 t black pepper Take toasted buns and add a slice of cheese to each side of each bun. In a nonstick pan over medium heat add the peppers and onions, cook and stir until almost translucent. Add steak and cook and stir until steak is just goes from red to brown. Remove from heat. Scoop even amounts of steak mixture over bottom buns and top with top bun. Serve right away. Enjoy. Peace, CK |
It's something about steak and onions!There nothing like the smell of thin strips of flavorful steak, sautéed with onions and peppers sizzling on the blacktop. These are a very quick version of Cheesesteak Sandwiches made famous in Philly. You could certainly forgo the provolone cheese here and use some Cheez Wiz, hey it’s your kitchen, do what you want.
