Baked Ziti
Serves 4 – 6
16 oz pasta sauce
2 Italian sauces links, skin removed, broken into pieces (optional)
8 oz ziti (cooked to package direction, except cook for 6-7 minutes)
8 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded
7 oz ricotta cheese
1 egg
2 t Parmesan cheese, shredded
¼ Seasoning salt
¼ t Black peppers
1/8 t Italian Seasoning
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. In a nonstick pan over medium heat add sausage and stir and cook until done. Drain sausage and add to a very large bowl. Add drained pasta, egg, and seasonings. Reserve ¼ cup of pasta sauce and add the rest to the bowl.
Reserve 3 Tablespoons of mozzarella cheese and add the rest of the mozzarella cheese to the bowl. Mix really well. Pour mixture into 8×8 baking dish. Smooth the mixture out with back of a spoon.
Spread on reserve pasta sauce over the top of the Baked Ziti and sprinkle on remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Bake 30-35 minutes, or until top has melted and starts to bubble. Let cool 15 minutes before cutting into the baked Ziti. Enjoy.
